I’m concerned about Our Children’s Future, and the grave shortage of changes we’ve been able to make together, to minimise our impact on the planet, and the challenge these young people now face. So I’ve started the Namedrop List…

Lithgow Solar Battery Train is World First.
I want to say that in the last 30 years, working passionately on climate action and Living ASAP = As Sustainably As Possible – and in all my years as a journalist and broadcaster – I have never come across a story waiting to be told, like this. Talking about it with friends, I’ve found people are delighted, inspired by the project. We all need hope and this is hope on wheels, plus jobs, a great tourist attraction for Lithgow and a sustainable trip to the Gardens of Stone, etc. The mayor, council, all politicians, unions seem to have found a place to agree! The nuclear debate is, of course, very serious. I’m told March 11 is a day of national protest about nuclear. And locals here want to visit our 2 Labor MPs, Susan Templeman [Macquarie] and Trish Doyle, [NSW Blue Mountains] to discuss this project. The catch is the $50-100 million that’s needed, but I’m assured that this is small money for people in energy.

In 2002 I caught the bus from Cullybackey where I was living at the time, to Kilrea where I was inspired to make this wee film. Every time I see it, I reconnect with the Bann and all the beautiful rivers, streams and loughs of my country.
